The Pride Porch Project

A platonic LGBTQ+ community built on warmth, safety, and real conversation

About us

Pull up a seat on the porch — we’re so glad you stopped by. The Pride Porch Project began with a shared frustration: it shouldn’t be this hard for LGBT+ adults to make friends. Too many apps promise connection but end up pushing swipes, matches, or hookup culture. That’s not what everyone wants, and it’s not the only way our community should be able to meet.

We dreamed of a place where you could simply show up, say hello, and find people who want genuine conversation. A place that feels safe, calm, and welcoming — like sitting on a porch with people who get you. That’s what The Pride Porch is all about. No swiping. No pressure. No expensive subscriptions. Just a free, friendly space for queer adults and allies to connect.

We’re launching this project to see how many others are searching for the same kind of community. We’re not here to profit — we’re here to build something meaningful together. While The Pride Porch is free to use, donations are always appreciated. Every contribution helps us improve the space, add new features, and keep building a community that feels warm, safe, and truly ours.

Everyone has a seat on the porch.

The Porch Journal

Welcome to the porch journal — a space for stories, reflections, and community conversations. Here, we share thoughts on friendship, queer joy, and the journey of building a safe space for connection. Whether it’s updates on The Pride Porch Project, personal essays from our community, or tips for finding and making friends, this blog is here to support and inspire.

Pull up a chair, grab a cup of something warm, and stay awhile. You’re always welcome here.
